Castleton, Vt.—Sophomore Ethan Clegg (Chepachet, R.I.) won his first collegiate match at No. 1 singles as Rhode Island College opened Little East play with a 7-0 shutout win at VTSU Castleton on Saturday afternoon.

• The Anchormen swept all three of the doubles contests to secure the match's first point. Clegg paired with classmate James McShane (Riverside, R.I.) for a 6-1 win at the top pairing.
 
• Freshman John Vaughan (East Providence, R.I.) won in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) at No. 4 singles to clinch the win.
 
• Seniors Sairaj Srinivasan (Cedar Grove, N.J.) and Kyle O'Connor (Foster, R.I.) each posted shutouts (6-0, 6-0) at No. 2 and 6 singles, respectively.
