Tufts (13-4)
Rhode Island College (1-12)
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior first baseman
Daniel Cascio (East Hampton, Conn.) started the game off with a solo homer to right field in the first inning, but it was matched with a leadoff blast by the Jumbos in the home half of the stanza to tie the game.
Â
• Tufts got going again in the third and plated three runs, thanks in part to a two-run homer to go up by a pair, 4-2 heading into the fourth.
Â
• Sophomore left fielder
George Threats (Cranston, R.I.) homered in the fourth and Camelo brought in a pair of runs with a double to give the Anchormen a 5-4 lead.
Â
• However, lone runs in both the sixth and eighth innings from the hosts helped the Jumbos stem their modest two-game losing skid.
• Junior pitcher
Casey Williams (Watertown, Mass.) was handed the loss (0-3).
