Ben Russo begins his first season as an assistant baseball coach at Rhode Island College.

“I am very excited to get to work building on a program that has seen an increase in success each year since my freshman year,” Russo said. “Although we are already competing at a good level, we have only scratched the surface of our potential. I want to help see us through to more historic seasons.”
 
“I am very excited to add one of our own to the coaching staff,” RIC Head Baseball Coach Frank Holbrook said. “Ben knows what it takes for student-athletes to be successful here at RIC and understands what we have been building here for the past four years. He will serve as our Recruiting Coordinator and I look forward to working with him on a daily basis.”
 
Russo spent four seasons as a pitcher on the RIC baseball team from 2019-22.
 
He earned his bachelor’s degree in operations management from Rhode Island College in 2022.
 
Russo earned All-State and All-Division honors in baseball during his career at Scituate High School. He was an Academic All-State selection and three-time RIBCA All-Star.
