Brad Douglas

Brad Douglas begins his second year as an assistant baseball coach at Rhode Island College.

Douglas was previously a coach with the Salve Regina baseball program in 2020 where he primarily worked with the hitters and outfielders. He spent the summer of 2020 as the head coach of the New England Scorpions 19u team. During the summer of 2018 and 2019, Douglas was an assistant coach of the Rhode Island Prospects 16u summer showcase team.

He worked at the North Shore Navigators Camp in 2017 and was a volunteer assistant coach for the Rhode Island Rebels in 2014 and 2015.

The South Kingstown native closed out his career as an Anchorman having played in 138 games, starting all of them. Douglas batted .347 (183-for-527) with 127 runs scored, 183 hits, 26 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 85 RBI and 24 stolen bases. He owned a .419 slugging percentage, a .445 on-base percentage and a .975 fielding percentage.

As a senior in 2018, Douglas was named First Team All-Little East. He played in 35 games, starting all of them. The center fielder batted .361 (53-for-147) with 40 runs scored, 53 hits, 13 doubles, two triples, 35 RBI and two stolen bases. Douglas owned a .476 slugging percentage, a .456 on-base percentage and a .940 fielding percentage. 

As a junior in 2017, Douglas played in 34 games, starting all of them. He batted .328 (39-for-119) with 39 hits, 26 runs scored, four doubles, one triple, one home run, 14 RBI and 14 stolen bases. Douglas owned a .403 slugging percentage, a .450 on-base percentage and a .990 fielding percentage.

As a sophomore in 2016, Douglas played in 37 games, starting all of them. He batted .301 (41-for-136) with 41 hits, four doubles, one home run, 17 walks, 27 RBI, 30 runs scored and four stolen bases. Douglas owned a .353 slugging percentage, a .409 on-base percentage and a .968 fielding percentage. He led the team in runs scored and was named the Little East Conference Player of the Week once on the year.

As a freshman in 2015, Douglas was named the Little East Conference Co-Rookie of the Year. He played in 32 games, starting all of them. Douglas batted .400 (50-for-125) with 50 hits, five doubles, nine RBI, 14 walks and 31 runs scored. He owned a .440 slugging percentage, a .469 on-base percentage and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Douglas led the team in fielding percentage, ranked second in at-bats, hits, walks and on-base percentage, while ranking third on the team in batting average, runs, steals and putouts.

In addition to his coaching duties, Douglas currently works at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford. 

He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Rhode Island College in 2018 and is a 2014 graduate of South Kingstown High School.
