Pete Kelich

Pete Kelich begins his second season as an assistant baseball coach at Rhode Island College.

He serves as the program’s pitching coach and will also coach first base.
 
Over four years at Bryant University, Kelich complied a 30-11 record in 55 appearances (50 starts). He is first all-time in career strikeouts at Bryant and second all-time in career wins.
 
Kelich capped off his college career by throwing five innings of one-run ball, which ultimately led  to a win against Arkansas in the 2013 Manhattan Kansas regional.  
 
During his time at Bryant, Kelich was voted First Team All-Northeast Conference (2013, 2012), named to Rawlings All-Region Team (2013, 2012) and awarded Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2012.  
 
Kelich played for the Haymarket Senators (Valley Baseball League), where he was named a league All-Star, and the Newport Gulls (NECBL), where he was named Reliever of the Year. In 2013, Kelich was drafted in the 38th round by the San Diego Padres. In his rookie season, Kelich was named Arizona League Pitcher of the Year after compiling a 7-1 record (58 innings, 1.40 ERA, 0.759 WHIP, 69 SO, one BB).  
 
He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Bryant in 2013.
 
Kelich is a native of Jackson, N.J. and currently resides in Pawtucket with his wife Kelsey.
