Newport, R.I.--Freshman outside hitter Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, MA) tallied 12 kills as the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (19-25, 26-28, 18-25) decision at Salve Regina on Saturday afternoon.

• RIC junior setter Jacqueline Jutras (Foster, RI) recorded a double-double with 30 assists and 10 digs in the setback. 

• RIC senior outside hitter Jillian Ward (Coventry, RI) narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and eight digs.

• Senior libero Marisa Brynes (Cranston, RI) and sophomore libero Samantha Borges (Swansea, MA) each had seven digs in the loss for the Anchorwomen.

• Salve Regina was paced by junior middle blocker Annie Donahue (Chelmsford, MA) with 12 kills and three blocks.

• Freshman outside hitter Nicole Karabaich (Greenlawn, NY) contributed 10 kills and eight digs for the Seahawks.

• SRU senior setter Erin Proctor (Canton, MA) recorded 30 assists and seven digs.

• RIC registered a .134 (34-19-112) hitting percentage in the victory, while Salve Regina hit .266 (45-16-109) in the contest.
• The hosts held a 53-44 advantage in digs.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play its second match of the tri-match vs. Framingham State (noon).
