HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE

• USM would add a pair of runs in the fourth inning as sophomore starting pitcher Lauren Merrill (Bethel, Maine) doubled in a run.

• Merrill kept the Anchorwomen bats in check all day, tossing a complete game shutout for her fourth win of the year (4-4).

• RIC freshman pitcher Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) took the loss (3-4).
