HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• The Huskies grabbed a run in the first thanks to an RBI single from sophomore shortstop
Madison Day (Otisfield, Maine).

• USM would add a pair of runs in the fourth inning as sophomore starting pitcher
Lauren Merrill (Bethel, Maine) doubled in a run.

• Merrill kept the Anchorwomen bats in check all day, tossing a complete game shutout for her fourth win of the year (4-4).

Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) took the loss (3-4).

GAME TWO
• Merrill got the day started for USM with another RBI hit in the bottom of the first to put the hosts up, 1-0.

• Day helped the Huskies have another big inning in the third, driving in one of the three runs to stake USM to a, 4-0, lead.

• The Anchorwomen were again stymied offensively by Southern Maine pitching. This time it was sophomore pitcher
Belle Snyder (Epping, N.H.) who blanked RIC, striking out seven and tossing a five-inning no-hitter for her fourth win (4-2).
