Keene, N.H.--Sophomore shortstop Amanda Conti (Lincoln, R.I.) knocked in a pair of runs, while classmate pitcher Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) fired a four-hitter, as Rhode Island College took game one, 9-1 (six innings), of a Little East doubleheader vs. Keene State on Saturday morning at the Owl Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After taking a one-run lead in the first, the visitors put four on the board in the third to go up by five, 5-0. Senior designated player Cassidy Schoen (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) capped the frame with an RBI double.
 
• RIC was able to end the contest an inning early with a three-run sixth, which was highlighted by a Conti two-run single.
 
• Kidd hurled a complete game without allowing an earned run and struck out three.
 
• Senior catcher Alexis Boyce (Wolcott, Conn.) went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play game two of its doubleheader vs. the Owls (11 a.m.).
