Sophia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) went 2-for-3 as No. 5-seeded Rhode Island College lost, 2-0, vs. No. 4-seeded Castleton in game one of the 2023 Little East Softball Championship hosted by Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Spartans scored both of their runs in the second inning, which was highlighted by an RBI double from freshman right fielder
Alexandra Brouillette (Highgate, Vt.).
• RIC sophomore pitcher
Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) took the loss (11-8), allowing just two runs on six hits to go along with 10 strikeouts, in six innings of work.
• The Anchorwomen put runners on second and third with two down in the fourth, but were not able to bring across the tying runs.
