Fayetteville, N.C.—Senior center fielder Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn.) continued her torrid hitting pace by going 2-for-2 with two runs scored, two RBI and a double as Rhode Island College dropped the second game of a twinbill hosted by Methodist, 8-6, on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC trailed, 7-3, after four innings, but climbed back within a run, 7-6, with three runs in the fifth. Senior first baseman Katelyn Ashe (Colchester, Conn.) and freshman pinch hitter Olivia Brett (Sewell, N.J.) had RBI singles in the comeback bid.
 
• The hosts added an insurance win in the top of the sixth to secure the win.
 
• Sophomore pitcher Gabby Cunha (Cranston, R.I.) took the loss. Junior pitcher Taylor Babcock (East Providence, R.I.) threw two innings of scoreless relief.
 
• Ashe went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play a doubleheader at Simmons on Sunday, March 17 (noon).
