Newport, R.I.—Sophomore second basemen
Noelle Simmons (Goffstown, N.H.) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and four RBI as the Rhode Island College defeated Salve Regina, 10-1 (five innings), in the second game of a doubleheader played at Toppa Field on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen got roaring early with a five-run explosion in the second inning, which included a three-run double by senior center fielder
Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn.).
• Simmons' three-run bomb in the top of the fifth inning put RIC ahead by nine, 10-1, and enacted the eight-run rule.

Taylor Babcock (East Providence, R.I.) hurled four innings, allowing just a single run in the victory (4-0).
