Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn.) were honored post-game on Senior Day as Rhode Island College swept a Little East doubleheader vs. Keene State, 6-1; 10-0, at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• The Anchorwomen scored two runs in both the first and second innings to take a 4-0 lead. Ashe doubled in a run in the first, while a Katz RBI triple and a sophomore second baseman
Noelle Simmons (Goffstown, N.H.) RBI double paced the second.

• Ashe singled in a run and sophomore pinch hitter
Sophia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) doubled in a run in the fifth.

• Junior pitcher
Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) fired a two-hitter, striking out 14 in six innings of work, to claim the win (16-1).

GAME TWO
• RIC would score four runs in the third inning to grab a 5-0 lead, paced by two RBI by Crudale.

• Ashe and freshman left fielder
Melanie Earley (Lumberton, N.J.) would hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth to put the Anchorwomen up, 10-0, and enact the eight-run rule.

• Freshman pitcher
Ashleigh von der Linden (Stratham, N.H.) pitched all five innings, striking out four batters, to secure the win (2-1).

• The two conference victories put the Anchorwomen in sole possession of first place in the Little East with four games remaining.

• Simmons went 5-for-6 in the twinbill with four runs scored, two doubles, two triples and two RBI.
