Clermont, Fla.—Fifth-year third baseman Victoria Young (Sterling, Conn.) belted a three-run homer to tie the game, but Rhode Island College fell, 8-5 vs. North Central on Wednesday morning

HOW IT HAPPENED
• With the Anchorwomen trailing, 5-2, in the top of the sixth, senior shortstop Amanda Conti (Lincoln, R.I.) walked and sophomore right fielder Melanie Earley (Lumberton, R.I.) singled.
 
• Young homered to deadlock the contest, 5-5, but the visitors failed to plate the go-ahead run.
 
• North Central put three across in the bottom of the sixth to regain the advantage and quickly dismissed RIC in the top of the seventh to secure the win.
 
• Sophomore first baseman Reilly Austin (Cumberland, R.I.) went 2-for-3 with a double, while sophomore catcher Brianna Bailey (Windsor, Conn.) went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
 
• Junior reliever Gabby Cunha (Cranston, R.I.) took the loss (0-2).
