William Peace Downs Anchormen, 13-3

Raleigh, N.C.--Senior catcher Sean Gallagher (Warwick, R.I.) went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk as Rhode Island College lost vs. William Peace, 13-3, at the USA Baseball Complex on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS
William Peace 13, Rhode Island College 3
William Peace (3-9)
Rhode Island College (0-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Gallagher immediately put the Anchormen on the board in the first as he doubled to bring in junior center fielder Parker Camelo (Bristol, R.I.).

• Two runs from William Peace in the bottom half of the first put the hosts up, 2-1, but RIC replied with a sacrifice fly from freshman shortstop Ryan O'Leary (Foxboro, Mass.) and an RBI single by senior Daniel Cascio (East Hampton, Conn.) to make it, 3-2, in favor of the Anchormen.

• However, the Pacers would take back the lead for good in the bottom of the second and held a 5-3 advantage after two frames.

• William Peace's bats got hot down the stretch, plating eight and keeping the visitors off the scoreboard for the remainder of the contest.

• Camelo went 2-for-4 and junior second baseman Aiden Bolwell (Chepachet, R.I.) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk.

• Freshman pitcher Jace Wolfradt (Pawcatuck, Conn.) was handed the loss (0-1).
