Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Gallagher immediately put the Anchormen on the board in the first as he doubled to bring in junior center fielder
Parker Camelo (Bristol, R.I.).
Â
• Two runs from William Peace in the bottom half of the first put the hosts up, 2-1, but RIC replied with a sacrifice fly from freshman shortstop
Ryan O'Leary (Foxboro, Mass.) and an RBI single by senior
Daniel Cascio (East Hampton, Conn.) to make it, 3-2, in favor of the Anchormen.
Â
• However, the Pacers would take back the lead for good in the bottom of the second and held a 5-3 advantage after two frames.
Â
• William Peace's bats got hot down the stretch, plating eight and keeping the visitors off the scoreboard for the remainder of the contest.
Â
• Camelo went 2-for-4 and junior second baseman
Aiden Bolwell (Chepachet, R.I.) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk.
