Providence, R.I.--Senior goalkeeper Nicole Nunes (Smithfield, R.I.) stopped 11 shots as Rhode Island College fell vs. Brandeis, 1-0, at Alumni Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Judges opened with a very narrative pace to the game and controlled possession for the majority of the first half.
 
• The visitors broke it open on the cusp of halftime after five saves within the opening 40 minutes by Nunes was not enough as Brandeis built a 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute.
 
• RIC gained some control in the second half as back-to-back shots by junior forward Caitlyn Terceiro (Warren, R.I.) in the 70th minute were both turned away.
 
• Freshman midfielder Isabella DiGioia (West Kingston, R.I.) had a chance in the 87th minute, but was also saved as the Judges were able to notch a clean sheet for the fourth time this fall.
 
•  Nunes moves to 5-2 with the loss, but earned her highest save total of the season.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East play at home vs. Southern Maine on Saturday, Sept. 26 (2 p.m.).
