Polar Bears Defeat Women's Volleyball at UNE Tri-Match

Biddeford, Maine--Rhode Island College totaled eight service aces as the women's volleyball team fell vs. Bowdoin, 3-0, during the first contest of a tri-match hosted by the University of New England on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bowdoin was in control the whole match, winning in three straight sets (25-15, 25-18, 25-15).
 
• Junior outside hitter Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, Mass.) led the way for the Anchorwomen with six kills, 10 digs, three blocks and two aces.
 
• Junior libero Wynter Conlon (East Walpole, Mass.) was second for the visitors with nine digs, while freshman setter Sydney Green (West Warwick, R.I) handed out a team-best seven assists.
 
• Bowdoin senior outside hitter Sophia Pahl (Cedarburg, Wisc.) and senior middle blocker Adrienne Miller (Arlington, Va.) tied for the match-high in kills with nine apiece. Pahl also contributed eight digs, two assists and two aces.
 
• Junior setter Ella Haugen (Minneapolis, Minn.) registered a match-high 31 assists.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC hit .048 (18-14-84), while the Polar Bears hit .311 (46-14-103).
 
• Bowdoin led in kills (46-18), assists (44-18) and digs (48-39).
