Keyshaun Jacobs Scores 29 in, 89-75, Win vs. Eastern Nazarene

Providence, R.I.—Senior guard Keyshaun Jacobs (Lynn, Mass.) finished with a game-high 29 points to lead the Rhode Island College men's basketball team to an 89-75 win over Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday evening at The Murray Center

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After the game went back and forth over the first few minutes, the Anchormen took the lead, 5-4, on a Jacobs trey at 17:14 and never gave it back.
 
• Eastern Nazarene hung tough, but a Jacobs three-pointer from 30 feet out gave the hosts an eight point lead heading into the half, 42-34.
 
• The Lions clawed their way to within two points, 63-61, with 9:33 remaining in the second half, but a Jacobs three-pointer jumpstarted an 18-4 run by the Anchormen and the visitors trailed by double digits the rest of the way.
 
• Jacobs was hitting from long range all evening, finishing with a 7-for-14 effort from beyond the arc.
 
• RIC sophomore guard Jordan Riley (Windsor, Conn.) scored 22 points to go along with five rebounds. He had two huge chase-down blocks on the defensive end during the game.
 
• Junior guard Shion Darby (Peekskill, N.Y.) followed his 34-point performance vs. MIT on Nov. 6 with a 19-point effort and handed out a game-high six dimes.
• Eastern Nazarene sophomore guard Bernie McGuiness (Cumming, Ga.) led the visitors with 21 points.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC shot 51 percent (36-for-70) from the field, 44 percent (13-for-29) from downtown and 50 percent (4-for-8) from the free throw line.
 
• The Lions shot 43 percent (29-for-67) from the field, 27 percent (4-for-15) from long range and 68 percent (13-for-19) from the free throw line.
 
• RIC led in rebounds (41-36), assists (20-17), steals (9-7) and blocks (5-2).
 
 WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Curry on Friday, Nov. 12 (7 p.m.).
