Portland, Maine--Seniors Will Niles (Warwick, R.I.) and Nate Chhim (Tiverton, R.I.) finished the first round of the Southern Maine Fall Invitational tied for ninth overall on Sunday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• RIC is currently tied for fourth (seven teams) with a team score of 317. Nichols is in first with a team score of 308.
 
• The event is being held at Riverside Golf Course.
 
• There were 34 golfers competing at the event.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Niles and Chhim each shot a 78.

• Freshman Jasper Bruins Slot (Scituate, R.I.) is tied for 17th with an 80.
 
• Sophomore Shane Mello (Somerset, Mass.) is tied for 20th with an 81.
 
• Sophomore Cameron Mello (Somerset, Mass.) is tied for 23rd with an 82.
