Albany, N.Y.--Sophomore guard 
Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.) had an all-around performance as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team defeated Russell Sage, 63-49, on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC took the first quarter by a score of 20-12. Russell Sage snapped an eight-game streak where the Anchorwomen held opponents to under 10 points in the first quarter.
 
• The Anchorwomen defense held RSC to just four points in the second quarter, bringing their lead to 19 points, 35-16, going into the half.
 
• It took three minutes for either team to score in the third frame, when senior guard 
Antonia Corsinetti (Johnston, R.I.) hit a three-pointer to break the drought. Medbury would hit a pair of free throws to help the visitors head into the final quarter up by 20, 50-30.
 
• The Gators went on a small run to begin the stanza, but nothing that concerned the Anchorwomen as they handled business for their eighth straight victory.
 
• Medbury had 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
 
• Corsinetti led the team with 14 point and senior center 
Neleesha Meunier (Leominster, Mass.) contributed eight points and nine rebounds off of the bench.
 
• RSU sophomore guard 
Syrita Faraj (Troy, N.Y.) notched a game-high 22 points and graduate forward 
Guiliana Pritchard (Amsterdam, N.Y.) chipped in with 12 points and 17 rebounds in the loss.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will face Bates at Russell Sage on Friday, Dec. 30 (2 p.m.).
