Boston, Mass.--Senior Will Niles (Warwick, R.I) and freshman Jasper Bruins Slot (Scituate, R.I.) each earned medalist honors as Rhode Island College finished first at the Emmanuel Invitational, played at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park on Tuesday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• Rhode Island College placed first with a team score of 314. Elms (331), Mitchell (332) and Emmanuel (337) rounded out the rest of the field.
 
• There were 20 golfers competing at the invitational.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Niles and Bruins Slot each shot a 76 to finish first overall and claim medalist honors.
 
• Sophomore Cameron Mello (Somerset, Mass.) placed eighth with an 80.
 
• Sophomore Shane Mello (Somerset, Mass.) finished tied for 10^th with an 82.
 
• Freshman Dylan James (Somerset, Mass.) placed 20^th with a score of 108.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Westfield State's Brett Williamson Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 22 (10 a.m.).
