Jasper Bruins Slot (Scituate, R.I.) shot a team-best 78 and finished second overall as Rhode Island College wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a second place finish (eight teams) at the Eastern Connecticut State Invitational on Wednesday afternoon.

THE BASICS
• Rhode Island College finished second (eight teams) with a team score of 332. Eastern Connecticut won the meet with a team score of 318. Western Connecticut (338), Eastern Connecticut B (341), Wentworth (341), Keene State (345), Westfield State (353) and Dean (382) rounded out the rest of the field.

• The meet was held at Tumble Brook Country Club, which was a par-72 and measured 6,782 yards.

• 40 golfers competed at the invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bruins Slot finished second with a 78. He concluded the fall by leading the Anchormen in each of the club's six competitions.
