HOW IT HAPPENED
• The despite equal contributions from freshman setter Yuleisy Alvelo (Springfield, Mass.), junior outside hitter Rhiannon Hodovanec (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and junior middle blocker Megan Philbrick (Johnston, R.I.), the Hawks were able to take the first set, 25-20.
 
• A 7-1 run for Roger Williams propelled the hosts to another victory in the second frame, 25-21.
 
•In the third set, Roger Williams junior defensive specialist Hailey Brasseur (Barrington, N.H.) recorded four consecutive service aces to lead the Hawks to a 24-12 victory in the third and final stage.
