Sarina Marines (Cranston, R.I.) hit .322 and knocked down 22 kills as Rhode Island College ended the 2023 season with a 3-2 win vs. Bard at a tri-match hosted by Western Connecticut on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The two teams traded wins through the first four sets, with the Anchorwomen winning (25-10, 25-20) in the first and third frames, respectively.
• Bard staved off the loss with a 25-20 victory in the fourth stanza.
• In the decisive final set, RIC went ahead, 7-6, on a Bard service error and then outscored the Raptors, 8-3, down the stretch to secure the five-set win.
• Five Anchorwomen registered double digits in digs, led by junior outside hitter
Rhiannon Hodovanec (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and junior libero
Nicole Normandin (Blackstone, Mass.), who each racked up 25.

Yuleisy Alvelo (Springfield, Mass.) handed out 43 assists. Hodovanec notched 12 kills. Marines contributed seven digs.
