Portsmouth, R.I.—Rhode Island College sophomore
Shane Mello (Somerset, Mass.) tied for second overall as the Rhode Island College men's golf team capped the 2022-23 season with a fourth place (five) teams finish at the Roger Williams Invitational on Monday afternoon at Green Valley Country Club.
THE BASICS
• Rhode Island College finished fourth with a team score of 323 (+39). Endicott won (311; +21), followed by Salem State (321; +37) and Roger Williams (322; +38). Worcester State finished fifth (351; +67).
• 26 golfers competed at the event.
• The course was a par 71 and measured 6,830 yards.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Mello finished two strokes off the lead and tied for second with a 77 (+6),
