Megan Philbrick (Johnston, R.I.) posted 13 kills and a .357 hitting percentage of as the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team lost at Eastern Connecticut in Little East action on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After the Warriors jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first set, RIC managed to bounce back and eventually take a 23-18 lead late in the frame. Two kills by Eastern Connecticut freshman
Brooke Praskievicz (Moodus, Conn.) forced the set into a 24-24 tie. The Warriors were able to power ahead and win the set, 30-28.
• The second frame was just as close as the first. Despite three kills from Philbrick, a 4-0 run late in the set by the Warriors led them to a 25-20 win to go up two sets to none.
• The third stanza saw the Anchorwomen bounce back by roaring out to a 21-12 lead. Two kills by freshman outside hitter
Sarina Marines (Cranston, R.I.) brought RIC within a set with a 25-22 win.
• The two teams went blow for blow in the fourth, with the set being tied as late as 16-16. The Warriors shut the door, scoring nine unanswered points to take the stanza, 25-16, and secure the 3-1 victory.
• Junior libero
Nicole Normandin (Blackstone, Mass.) tallied 27 digs in the loss, which was a match-high.
