th double-double of the season with 35 assists and 10 digs as Rhode Island College swept New England College, 3-0, in the second contest of a tri-match hosted by Keene State at Spaulding Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC's 12-2 run in the first stanza would overpower the Pilgrims in the end, 25-21.

• Trailing by two, 24-22, Rhode Island College would anchor down as Marines and junior middle hitter
Sydnee Pires (Rochester, Mass.) went back-to-back on kills to knot it at 24 apiece. RIC then captured the second frame off two straight Pilgrim attack errors, 26-24.

• The Anchorwomen's, 10-1, run in the middle of the third set would prove to be the downfall of New England College as RIC commanded the stanza, 25-14, and earned the shutout.

Sarina Marines (Cranston, R.I.) have tallied double-doubles in back-to-back match. Marines recorded 12 kills, 11 digs, three aces and three blocks against the Pilgrims.

Daniella Escudero (East Providence, R.I.) recorded a match-high 15 digs.
