HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC held at least a three-possession lead for much of the first half and led by 11, 41-30, after 20 minutes. Kourouma and senior guard
Dwayne Robinson-O'Hagan (Woonsocket, R.I.) led the way with 16 and eight first-half points, respectively.
• The Huskies put the hosts back on their heels over the first eight minutes of the second half, ripping off a 24-9 run to hold a 54-52 lead.
• With RIC trailing by one, 57-56, with 11 minutes left, the game was halted for 15 minutes due to an injury. The Anchormen regrouped during the stoppage and erupted for a 17-5 run to build a 73-62 lead with six minutes left to play.
• USM climbed back to trail by a pair, 82-80, with 22 seconds left. Junior guard
Loudon Chupas (Colchester, Conn.) picked up a big defensive rebound on the potential game-tying shot with nine seconds remaining and fed Robinson-O'Hagan, who was immediately fouled.
• After Robinson-O'Hagan knocked down his first attempt, Kourouma elevated to pull down the ensuing miss and Chupas went to the line to seal the win.
• Robinson-O'Hagan finished with 22 points, three boards and three assists. Chupas and senior guard
Deyshawn Tengbeh (East Providence, R.I.) each contributed 13 points. Tengbeh posted a double-double with 10 boards.
