Boston, Mass.--Sophomore Jaden Saunders (Smithfield, R.I.) finished fourth in the high jump (1.86m) and 23^rd in the long jump (6.06m) as the Rhode Island College men's track and field team competed at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• This was an individual meet with no team scoring and comprised of mostly Div. I and II competition.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior Garrett Jones (Beacon Falls, Conn.) finished 12^th in the triple jump (12.20m).
 
• Sophomore Brandon Mota (West Warwick, R.I.) finished 13^th in the weight throw (15.80m).
 
• Freshman Shane Marshall (Newport, R.I.) finished 14^th in the shot (10.33m).
 
• Freshman Gabriel Dosunmu (Providence, R.I.) finished 22^nd in the long jump (6.18m) and 161^st in the 200m (23.38).
 
• Freshman Trevor Morgan (Smithfield, R.I.) finished 22^nd in the weight throw (12.74m).
 
• Senior Christopher McCarthy (Cranston, R.I.) finished 24^th in the weight throw (12.53m).
 
• Freshman Alexander Pinheiro (Warwick, R.I.) finished 111^th in the 200m (22.82).
 
• Freshman Will Schiller (Smithfield, R.I.) finished 184^th in the 400m (52.70) and 192^nd in the 200m (23.89).
 
• Freshman Antonello Lucchetti (Cranston, R.I.) finished 199^th in the 200m (24.04).
 
• Freshman Giovani Monteiro (North Providence, R.I.) finished 205^th in the 400m (54.16).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2024 Little East Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 10.
