Gabriel Dosunmu (Providence, R.I.) claimed the New England Championship in the long jump with a first place finish (7.12m) as Rhode Island College finished the first day of competition at the New England Div. III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Mount Holyoke on Friday afternoon.

• RIC is currently tied with Connecticut College for first place (24 teams) with a team score of 23.0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Dosunmu's effort is also a new program and facility record in the long jump.
• Sophomore
Brandon Mota (West Warwick, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with a third place finish in the hammer (53.69m).
• Sophomore
Shamus Culhane (North Kingstown, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with a fourth place finish in the hammer (53.51m).
• Freshman
Andrew Frezza (Johnston, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with a seventh place finish in the 10,000m (32:35.03).
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will see action in the 4x100m relay and the 3,000m steeplechase during the second day of competition at the N.E. Div. III Championship on Saturday, May 4.
