Brookline, Mass.—Junior Jasper Bruins Slot (Scituate, R.I.) finished first overall and was the medalist with a 72 (+2) as the Rhode Island College men's golf team opened the 2024-25 season with a third place finish at the Emmanuel Invitational on Wednesday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• The Anchormen finished third (four teams) with a team score of 327. New England College finished first (301), while Emmanuel was second (319) and Lesley placed fourth (345).
 
• The event was played at Brookline Golf Course and was a par-70.
 
• 20 golfers competed at the event.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior Cameron Mello (Somerset, Mass.) finished seventh with a 77 (+7).
 
• Junior Kyle Cullen (Glocester, R.I.) finished 15^th with an 84 (+14)
 
• Sophomore Max Nasser (Middletown, R.I.) finished 17^th with a 94 (+24).
 
• Junior Nathan Evans (Cranston, R.I.) placed 18^th with a 95 (+25).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Worcester State at Valley Country Club on Thursday, Sept. 19 (11 a.m.).
