Warriors Hold Anchormen to Season-Low 56 Points

Providence, R.I.--Senior forward Tyriek Weeks (Warwick, R.I.) and junior guard Xavier Mendez (Pawtucket, R.I.) each netted 10 points as Rhode Island College fell vs. Eastern Connecticut, 80-56, at The Murray Center on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The opening 13 minutes saw a stalemate between both teams as the score was knotted up, 18-18, before the visitors opened up a lead which led them into the half ahead by seven, 34-27.
 
• Eastern missed just one shot in the opening five minutes of the second half as their lead grew to 11, 48-37, with 14 minutes to play.
 
• Mendez led the team with nine rebounds.
 
• The Anchormen shot 18-for-58 (.310) from the field and 3-for-20 (.150) from three-point range in the setback.
 
• RIC's 56 points was the lowest offensive output for the club on the season.
