Boston, Mass.--Sophomore Joshua Dabanka (Providence, R.I.) finished fifth in the triple jump (13.34m; personal best) as the Rhode Island College men's track and field team competed at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday.
 
THE BASICS
• This was an individual meet with no team scoring. The field of teams featured mostly Div. I and Div. II competition.
 
THE TOP PERFORMERS
• Dabanka also placed 10th in the long jump (6.16m).
 
• Senior Brandon Mota (West Warwick, R.I.) posted a season-best effort in the weight throw with a sixth place finish (17.15m), which surpassed competitors from Div. I Army, Colgate and Binghamton.
 
• Freshman Maycol Reynoso (Providence, R.I.) finished 16th in the 60m invite preliminaries (7.12) and 43rd in the 200m (22.37; personal best).
 
• Senior Izaiah Karweh (Providence, R.I.) finished 19th in the 60m invite preliminaries (7.15; season best) and 86th in the 200m (22.90; season best).

• Sophomore Owen Schenck (Warren, R.I.) finished 130th in the 800m (1:58.28; season best).
 
THE REST OF THE FIELD
• Junior Enrique Edjang (Providence, R.I.) finished eighth in the weight throw (16.16m).
 
• Sophomore Aiden Fitzgerald (Cumberland, R.I.) finished 10th in the shot (13.79m).
 
• Freshman Christian Briggs (West Warwick, R.I.) finished 11th in the weight throw (15.20m).
 
• Senior Shamus Culhane (North Kingstown, R.I.) finished 12th in the weight throw (14.49m).
 
• Freshman Marcos Ruiz Uben (Westerly, R.I.) finished 12th in the 60m hurdles preliminaries (8.63) and 88th in the 400m (51.19).
 
• Junior Trevor Morgan (Smithfield, R.I.) finished 15th in the weight throw (13.61m).
 
• Sophomore Jack McEntee (Foster, R.I.) finished 68th in the 400m (50.53) and 90th in the 200m (23.04).
 
• Junior Antonello Lucchetti (Cranston, R.I.) finished 98th in the 200m (23.21).
 
• Senior Isiah Briggs (Providence, R.I.) finished 107th in the 200m (23.49).
 
• Sophomore Brody Shiels (Wakefield, R.I.) finished 111th in the 200m (23.62) and 112th in the 400m (53.04).
 
• Freshman Tyler Boudreau (Warwick, R.I.) finished 156th in the 800m (2:01.52).
 
• Freshman Adrien Nacci (Newport, R.I.) finished 163rd in the 800m (2:04.99).
