John Vaughan (East Providence, R.I.) won in straight sets to clinch a 5-2 victory for Rhode Island College vs. Salve Regina at the RIC Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC took two of the three doubles matches to secure the pairings point. Sophomores
Ethan Clegg (Chepachet, R.I.) and classmate
James McShane (Riverside, R.I.) won, 6-3, at second doubles.
• After a McShane win at fourth singles, the visitors won two contests to even the match at 2-2.
• Clegg won in straight sets (6-1, 6-4) at second singles and Vaughan clinched the win for the Anchormen with his singles victory.
• Vaughan, Clegg and McShane each went 2-0 on the day.
