Milton, Mass.--Sophomore Brianna Baker (Middleborough, Mass.) notched her first collegiate win as Rhode Island College breezed by Curry, 7-0, in just over an hour at the Trent J. Scott Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The junior No. 1 doubles tandem of Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) and Emilia Houwers (Whitewater, Wisc.) took the pairs match, 6-0, while senior Ivy Par (Pawtucket, R.I.) and sophomore Addison Hadlock (Littleton, N.H.) won at No. 2 doubles with a shutout as well.
 
• Hadlock put RIC up, 2-0, with a forfeit win at sixth singles and was followed by back-to-back shutout wins by sophomore Faith Owren (Richmond, R.I.) and Peacock at second and first singles, respectively, to clinch the win.
 
• Baker won in straight sets (6-0 6-0) at No. 5 singles for her first win.
 
• RIC lost just three games on the afternoon and picked up its third straight, 7-0, shutout win of the season.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Salve Regina on Tuesday, Sept. 15 (3:30 p.m.).
