2025 Rhode Island College Softball Season Summary

Providence, R.I.--Head coach Lauren Hatfield's team finished the 2025 season with a 20-19-1 overall record and a 5-10-1 (eighth place) finish in the Little East.
 
Fifth-year third basemen Victoria Young (Sterling, Conn.) closed out her career having played in 115 games, starting 113 of them. She batted .335 (111-for-331) with 67 runs scored, 111 hits, 15 doubles, 14 triples, eight home runs, 55 RBI and 15 stolen bases. Young owned a .538 slugging percentage, a .367 on-base percentage and a .957 fielding percentage.
 
As a fifth-year in 2025, Young played in 40 games, starting all of them. She batted .371 (46-for-124) with 29 runs scored, 46 hits, nine doubles, six triples, four home runs, 32 RBI and eight bases stolen. Young owned a .637 slugging percentage, a .418 on-base percentage and a .952 fielding percentage.
 
As a senior in 2024, Young played 41 games, starting all of them. She batted .297 (33-for-111) with 21 runs, 33 hits, one double, four triples, three home runs, 12 RBI and two stolen bases. She owned a .459 slugging percentage, a .333 on base percentage and a .958 fielding percentage.
 
As a junior in 2023, Young was named Second Team All-Little East. She played in 34 games, starting 32 of them. She batted .333 (32-for-96) with 17 runs scored, 32 hits, five doubles, four triples, one home run, 11 RBI and five stolen bases. Young owned a .500 slugging percentage, a .340 on-base percentage and a .960 fielding percentage.
 
She is a health science major and a 2020 graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy. Prior to coming to RIC, Young attended Bryant.
 
Senior outfielder Abby Clesas (Johnston, R.I.) closed out her career having played in 91 games, starting 31 of them. She batted .300 (18-for-60) with 21 runs scored, 18 hits, one double, nine RBI and three stolen bases. Clesas owned a .317 slugging percentage, a .377 on-base percentage and a .927 fielding percentage.
 
As a senior in 2025, Clesas played in 15 games, starting eight of them. She batted .348 (8-for-23) with eight hits, one double and three RBI. Clesas owned a .391 slugging percentage, a .464 on-base percentage and a .889 fielding percentage.
 
As a junior in 2024, Clesas played 24 games, starting 10 of them. She batted .357 (10-for-28) with eight runs, 10 hits and five RBI. She owned a .357 slugging percentage, a .379 on base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
As a sophomore in 2023, Clesas played in 32 games, starting six of them. She scored six runs and stole two bases as a pinch runner. Clesas owned a 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
As a freshman in 2022, Clesas played in 20 games, starting seven of them. She had seven runs scored, one RBI and one stolen base. Clesas owned a .167 on-base percentage and a .833 fielding percentage.
 
She is a business management major and a 2021 graduate of Johnston High School.
 
Senior shortstop Amanda Conti (Lincoln, R.I.) closed out her career having played in 144 games, starting all of them. She batted .280 (118-for-421) with 78 runs scored, 118 hits, 13 doubles, three triples, 58 RBI and 13 stolen bases. Conti owned a .325 slugging percentage, a .360 on-base percentage and a .926 fielding percentage.
 
As a senior in 2025, Conti was named Second Team All-Little East. She played in 40 games, starting all of them. Conti batted .354 (45-for-127) with 26 runs, 45 hits, four doubles, one triple, 17 RBI and nine stolen bases. She owned a .402 slugging percentage, a .417 on-base percentage and a .939 fielding percentage.
 
As a junior in 2024, Conti played 40 games, starting all of them. She batted .303 (36-for-119) with 26 runs, 36 hits, five doubles, two triples, 24 RBI and three stolen bases. Conti owned a .378 slugging percentage, a .388 on base percentage and a .922 fielding percentage.
 
As a sophomore in 2023, Conti played in 38 games, starting all of them. She batted .226 (24-for-106) with 17 runs scored, 24 hits, three doubles, 10 RBI and one stolen base. Conti owned a .255 slugging percentage, a .333 on-base percentage and a .900 fielding percentage.
 
As a freshman in 2022, Conti played in 26 games, starting all of them. She batted .188 (13-for-69) with nine runs scored, 13 hits, one double and seven RBI. Conti owned a .203 slugging percentage, a .243 on-base percentage and a .946 fielding percentage.
 
She is a nursing major and a 2021 graduate of Lincoln High School.
 
Senior pitcher Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) closed out her career appearing in 98 games, starting 76 of them. She was 49-30 with five saves, 15 shutouts, a 2.13 ERA and 595 strikeouts in 519.0 innings of work. As a hitter, she batted .270 (24-for-89) with 12 runs scored, 24 hits, two doubles and 10 RBI. She owned a .292 slugging percentage, a .340 on-base percentage and a .933 fielding percentage.
 
As a senior in 2025, Kidd appeared in 25 games, starting 20 of them. She was 11-8 with a 3.29 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 136.0 innings pitched. As a hitter, Kidd batted .200 (1-for-5). She owned a .200 slugging percentage, a .333 on-base percentage and an .818 fielding percentage. Kidd was named the Little East Pitcher of the Week once on the season.
 
As a junior in 2024, Kidd was named First Team All-Region II (Div. III) by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and First Team All-Little East. She appeared in 28 games, starting 22 of them. She was 19-5 with two saves, a 1.17 ERA and 222 strikeouts in 155.0 innings pitched. Kidd was named the Little East Pitcher of the Week twice on the season.
 
As a sophomore in 2023, Kidd was named Second Team All-Little East. She appeared in 25 games, starting 21 of them. She was 13-9 with one save, a 1.90 ERA and 151 strikeouts in 136.2 innings pitched. As a hitter, she batted .278 (15-for-54) with five runs scored, 15 hits, one double and three RBI. Kidd owned a .296 slugging percentage, a .339 on-base percentage and a .947 fielding percentage. She was named the Little East Pitcher of the Week once on the season.
 
As a freshman in 2022, Kidd was named to the Little East Softball All-Rookie Team. She appeared in 20 games, starting 13 of them. She was 6-8 with two saves, a 2.38 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 91.1 inning pitched. Kidd earned two Little East Rookie of the Week honors, as well as one Little East Pitcher of the Week distinction. As a hitter, she batted .267 (8-for-30) with seven runs scored, eight hits, one double and seven RBI. Kidd owned a .300 slugging percentage, a .343 on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
She is a health science major and a 2021 graduate of Granby Memorial High School.
 
Senior outfielder Sarah Mickelson (New Milford, Conn.) closed out her career having played in 117 games, starting 92 of them. She batted .285 (71-for-249) with 41 runs scored, 71 hits, eight doubles, two triples, 27 RBI and seven stolen bases. Mickelson owned a .333 slugging percentage, a .347 on-base percentage and a .962 fielding percentage.
 
As a senior in 2025, Mickelson played in 36 games, starting 34 of them. She batted .294 (25-for-85) with 15 runs scored, 25 hits, four doubles, one triple, 10 RBI and three stolen bases. Mickelson owned a .365 slugging percentage, a .322 on-base percentage and a .966 fielding percentage.
 
As a junior in 2024, Mickelson played 32 games, starting 24 of them. She batted .311 (19-for-61) with 12 runs, 19 hits, two doubles, one triple, seven RBI and three stolen bases. She registered a .377 slugging percentage, a .427 on base percentage and a .976 fielding percentage.
 
As a sophomore in 2023, Mickelson played in 23 games, starting eight of them. She batted .182 (4-for-22) with three runs scored, four hits and one RBI. Mickelson owned a .182 slugging percentage, a .250 on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
As a freshman in 2022, Mickelson played in 26 games, starting all of them. She batted .284 (23-for-81) with 11 runs scored, 23 hits, two doubles, nine RBI and one stolen base. Mickelson owned a .309 slugging percentage, a .330 on-base percentage and a .944 fielding percentage.
 
She is a marketing major and a 2021 graduate of New Milford High School.
 
Junior center fielder Sophia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) played in 33 games, starting 32 of them. She batted .274 (26-for-95) with 16 runs, 26 hits, seven doubles, two triples, 17 RBI and four stolen bases. Crudale owned a .389 slugging percentage, a .324 on-base percentage and a .980 fielding percentage.
 
Junior pitcher Gabby Cunha (Cranston, R.I.) appeared in 13 games, starting seven of them. She was 1-3 with a 4.15 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 30.1 innings pitched.
 
Junior utility Jillian Donnelly (Pearl River, N.Y.) played in nine games. She batted .286 (2-for-7) with two hits. She owned a .286 slugging percentage and a .375 on-base percentage.
 
Junior second basemen Noelle Simmons (Goffstown, N.H.) was named First Team All-Little East. She played in 38 games, starting all of them. Simmons batted .382 (47-for-123) with 27 runs scored, 47 hits, 11 doubles, eight triples, two home runs, 24 RBI and four stolen bases. She owned a .650 slugging percentage, a .394 on-base percentage and a .966 fielding percentage. Simmons was named the Little East Player of the Week once on the season.
 
Sophomore first baseman/designated player Reilly Austin (Cumberland, R.I.) played in 32 games, starting 26 of them. She batted .264 (19-for-72) with five runs, 19 hits, five doubles, one home run, 13 RBI and one stolen base. Austin owned a .375 slugging percentage, a .282 on-base percentage and a .992 fielding percentage.
 
Sophomore catcher Brianna Bailey (Windsor, Conn.) played in 31 games, starting 28 of them. She batted .281 (18-for-64) with 12 runs scored, 18 hits, three doubles, seven RBI and four stolen bases. Bailey owned a .328 slugging percentage, a .352 on-base percentage and a .994 fielding percentage.
 
Sophomore outfielder Olivia Brett (Sewell, N.J.) played in nine games, starting two of them. She batted .286 (2-for-7) with two runs, two hits and one stolen base. She owned a .286 slugging percentage, a .444 on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
Sophomore catcher Sylvia Dempsey (Shrewsbury, Mass.) played in 16 games, starting five of them. She batted .333 (5-for-15) with three runs scored, five hits and one double. Dempsey owned a .400 slugging percentage, a .524 on-base percentage and a .980 fielding percentage.
 
Sophomore outfielder Sydney Duclos (North Providence, R.I.) played in 36 games, starting 27 of them. She batted .329 (28-for-85) with nine runs, 28 hits, nine doubles, 19 RBI and one stolen base. Duclos owned a .435 slugging percentage, a .358 on-base percentage, and a .955 fielding percentage.
 
Sophomore outfielder Melanie Earley (Lumberton, N.J.) played in 34 games, starting 32 of them. She batted .319 (30-for-94) with 22 runs scored, 30 hits, nine doubles, one triple, three home runs, 13 RBI and five bases stolen. Earley owned a .532 slugging percentage, a .389 on-base percentage and a .970 fielding percentage.
 
Sophomore utility Rylie Forcier (Woonsocket, R.I.) played in 21 games, starting six of them. She batted .143 (2-for-14) with 10 runs scored and two hits. Forcier owned a .143 slugging percentage, a .250 on-base percentage and a .750 fielding percentage.
 
Sophomore pitcher Ashleigh von der Linden (Stratham, N.H.) appeared in 23 games, starting 13 of them. She was 8-8 with a 4.35 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 91.2 innings pitched. She was named Little East Pitcher of the Week once on the season.
 
Sophomore pitcher/utility Emma Wood (Holliston, Mass.) appeared in three games. She owned a 7.88 ERA with one strikeout in 5.1 innings pitched. As a hitter, she batted .364 (4-for-11) with one run and four hits. She owned a .364 slugging percentage, a .364 on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
Freshman outfielder Alana DeLuties (Middleton, Mass.) played in 18 games, starting five of them. She scored seven runs. DeLuties owned a .143 on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
Freshman first baseman/designated player Jillian Guilfoyle (Derby, Conn.) played in 31 games, starting 19 of them. She batted .197 (12-for-61) with two runs scored, 12 hits, two doubles and 14 RBI.
