HOW IT HAPPENED
• Chupas quickly found a rhythm, scoring nine of RIC's first 11 points.
Â
• A back and forth first half from the Anchormen and the Owls resulted in a 27-27  stalemate at the halftime break.
Â
• The second half told a similar tale as the Anchormen would score the first five points on off of buckets by junior guard
Xavier Mendez (Pawtucket, R.I.) and senior forward
Tyriek Weeks (Warwick, R.I.).
Â
• The Owls held their ground and soared back in front to take the lead, 35-33, with 15 minutes left to play.
Â
• RIC started to break away after Chupas drilled a three, 58-51, with just over five minutes remaining.
Â
• Chupas and Weeks nailed back-to-back three pointers with two and a half minutes left to seal the deal and put the Anchormen back into the conference win column.
Â
• Weeks' double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds propelled the hosts to the finish.
Â
• The win snapped a three-game losing skid for the Anchormen.
