Lily Nees (Rehoboth, Mass.) tied her career-high with five goals to go along with an assist, eight ground balls and five caused turnovers as Rhode Island College notched its first win of the season with a 13-2 victory vs. Anna Maria, 13-2, at Caparso Field on Wednesday afternoon.

• A pair of goals by sophomore midfielder
Brie Macaruso (Ashaway, R.I.) to open the first period helped put RIC in the lead, 5-0, after 15 minutes.

Taylor Lambert (Richmond, R.I.) immediately gave the Anchorwomen another goal less than 40 seconds into the second period.

• Although Anna Maria finally solved the Anchorwomen's defense, RIC went into halftime ahead by seven, 8-1.

• Three goals by Nees in the second half ultimately made the difference as the visitors buried the hosts with a 37-15 shot advantage.
