Providence, R.I--Rhode Island College freshman Naibel Noriega (Providence, R.I.) was named the Little East Women's Rookie Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at UMass Lowell's Riverhawk Invitational, held at The Track at New Balance, on Feb. 6.

It is the second time this season that Noriega has received this award.

Noriega  finished ninth in the 200m open (26.18; personal best), 11th in the 400m invite (58.56; personal best) and 38th in the 60m preliminaries (8.18).

It was an individual meet with no team scoring and featured mostly Div. I and II institutions.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Boston University's David Hemerey Valentine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 14.
