Amanda (Perry) Blanchard ’12 was an outstanding second baseman and center fielder for RIC’s softball team from 2008-11. During her career, the Anchorwomen won two LEC Regular Season titles and a pair of league Tournament Championships to go along with three NCAA Tournament appearances.

The New Bedford, Mass. native played in 180 games, starting 177 of them. Blanchard batted .330 (178-for-539) with 123 runs scored, 178 hits, 34 doubles, 13 triples, 13 home runs, 116 RBI and 16 stolen bases. At the conclusion of her career, she ranked first in RBI, second in both doubles and triples, third in at-bats (439), runs scored, home runs and total bases, and was fourth in hits.

As a sophomore in 2009, Blanchard was named First Team All-New England, Second Team All-ECAC and First Team All-Little East. As a freshman in 2008, she was named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Year, First Team All-Little East and Third Team All-New England.

She is 2012 graduate of Rhode Island College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Blanchard is currently pursuing her master’s degree on the family nurse practitioner track. She is a registered nurse at Miriam Hospital.
