Emmanuel Asiedu ’15 was an outstanding midfielder on Rhode Island College's men's soccer team from 2011-14. He received the John E. Hetherman Award, signifying him as RIC's top graduating male student-athlete, in 2015.

The Lincoln, R.I. native played in 69 games, starting 61 of them. A three-time All-Little East Conference selection, he ranks eighth all-time at RIC in both goals (32) and points (80). He finished his career with 16 assists, which is ninth in program history, and scored 14 game-winning goals for the Anchormen.
 
As a senior in 2014, Asiedu was named Second Team All-New England and First Team All-Little East. He played in 17 games, starting all of them. Asiedu recorded 13 goals and five assists for 31 points, which was tops in the Little East. He registered six game-winning goals and went a perfect 5-for-5 on penalty kicks. He had three games in which he scored twice. Asiedu tallied the game-tying assist and scored the game-winning penalty kick goal in overtime as RIC bested Plymouth State, 4-3, on Oct. 11.  He was named the Little East Conference Player of the Week twice on the season.
 
As a junior in 2013, Asiedu was named Second Team All-Little East. He was one of the team’s two captains, and was one of just three Anchormen to start in all 19 games during the season. Asiedu racked up 10 goals, including a league-high five game-winners, to go along with five assists for 25 points. He led RIC in goals, assists and points, and also ranked fifth in the Little East Conference in points on the year.
 
Asiedu propelled the Anchormen into the postseason with the game-winning penalty kick in the final 30 seconds of regulation in RIC’s, 3-2, season finale victory against UMass Boston on Nov. 2. He also tallied game-winning penalty kicks in a 2-1 overtime victory over TCNJ on Aug 31 and in RIC’s, 3-2, overtime victory over Bridgewater State on Sept. 18.
 
Asiedu scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over UMass Dartmouth on Sept. 21 and in RIC’s, 2-1, win over Westfield State on Oct. 22. He finished with multiple goals in the wins over Bridgewater State and Westfield State. Asiedu was named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Offensive Player of the Week once on the season.
 
As a sophomore in 2012, Asiedu was named Second Team All-Little East. He played in 14 games, starting all of them. He finished the season with five goals and five assists for 15 points. Asiedu led the Anchormen in goals, assists and points on the year. He recorded game-winning goals in the season-opener against Husson (1-0) on Sept. 1 and against UMass Boston (1-0) to give RIC its first LEC victory of the season on Sept. 15.
 
As a freshman in 2011, he played in 19 games, starting 11 of them. He recorded four goals and one assist for nine points. Asiedu posted his first career goal in RIC’s, 2-1, victory over UMass Boston on Sept. 24. He scored the game-winner against Westfield State on Oct. 19.
 
Asiedu earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Rhode Island College in 2015. He earned his M.D. from Brown Medical School in 2019.

He is originally from Accra, Ghana and is a 2011 graduate of Lincoln High School.
