A 1967 graduate of RIC, he is a distinguished soccer player, coach, and official.

Foley has served his alma mater as an Admission Officer (1967-1970), the Asst. Director of Admissions (1970-71), the Director of Admissions (1971-1978), the Vice President for College Advancement & Support (1978-1988), and currently is the Director of the Recreation Center (1988-present).

As an athlete, he was named New England State College Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions and garnered the John E. Hetherman Award in 1967 upon graduation.

An RI Soccer Official of the Year in 1973, Foley earned the Outstanding Educator of America Award during that same year in ‘81.

A member of the RI Soccer Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame (1982), Foley captured the David E. Swet Leadership and Excellence Award along with the Distinguished Community Leadership Award in 1985.
