Dante Lopardo ’11 was a standout on the men’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams from 2007-09.
He earned multiple All-New England, All-ECAC, N.E. Alliance and Little East honors in the high jump, long jump and triple jump events. He was the New England Champion in the high jump during the 2009 outdoor campaign and won the conference title in that event three times during his career.
OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CAREER
As a senior in 2009, Lopardo was named the team’s MVP. He earned All-ECAC honors in the high jump, tying for sixth overall (1.95m) at the ECAC Championships on May 15. Lopardo earned All-NEICAAA honors with an eighth place finish in the high jump (1.95m) at the N.E. Open Championships on May 9. He earned All-New England honors in the high jump, placing first in the high jump (1.95m) and placed 12
th in the long jump (6.51m) with a season-best effort at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 2. Lopardo was the N.E. Alliance Champion in the high jump with a season-best effort (2.02m), while also earning N.E. Alliance honors in the long jump (6.41m) with a fifth place finish at the N.E. Alliance Championships on April 25. He also placed 15
th in the triple jump (12.07m), 27
th in the discus (26.43m) with a season-best throw and 26
th in the javelin (37.82m). He placed first in the high jump (1.93m), eighth in the triple jump with a season-best performance (12.54m), ninth in the long jump (6.10m), 11
th in the javelin with a season-best throw (43.25m) and 24
th in the discus with a season-best throw (21.73m) at the Silfen Invitational on April 18. Lopardo first in the high jump (1.90m) and second in the long jump (5.84m) and at the Wesleyan Invitational on April 11. He placed first in the high jump (1.91m) and fourth in the long jump (6.10m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on April 4. Lopardo placed second in the high jump (1.87m), eighth in the long jump (5.86m) and 17
th in the 200m (24.66) with a season-best time at the Trinity Invitational on March 28.
As a junior in 2008, Lopardo was named the team’s MVP. He placed 11
th in the high jump (1.84m) at the ECAC Championships on May 16. Lopardo placed fifth in the high jump (1.95m) meters at the N.E. Open Championships on May 10. He earned All-New England honors in the high jump (1.90m) with a third place finish, while also placing 15
th in the long jump (5.81m) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 1-3. Lopardo was the New England Alliance Champion in the high jump (1.98m) with a season-best effort, while also earning New England Alliance honors in both the long (season-best performance) and triple jumps (6.27m/12.71m) with fourth place efforts, at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Apr. 26. He placed first in the high jump (1.96m), third in the triple jump (13.12m) with a season-best effort and seventh in the long jump (6.24m) meters at the Silfen Invitational on Apr. 19. Lopardo placed first in the high jump (1.95m) meters, eighth in the triple jump (12.73m) and 12
th in the javelin (34.68m) at the Swanson Invitational on Apr. 12. He placed fourth in the high jump (1.86m) and seventh in the long jump (6.28m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Apr. 5. Lopardo placed first in the triple jump (10.72m), second in the high jump (1.83m) and sixth in the javelin (43.47m), a season-best, at the RIC Invitational on Mar. 29. He placed fifth in the triple jump (11.83m) and sixth in the long jump (5.90m) at the Husky Spring Open on Mar. 22.
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CAREER
As a senior in 2008-09, Lopardo was named the team’s MVP. He earned All-ECAC honors with a fifth place, season-best/new program record 1.99m, effort in the high jump at the ECAC Championships on March 7. Lopardo placed sixth in the high jump (1.94m) at the N.E. Open Championships on Feb. 28. He earned All-New England honors in both the high and long jumps at the N.E. Div. III Championships by placing third in the high jump (1.92m) and seventh in the long jump with a season-best jump of 6.51m. Lopardo earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in the high jump with his first place, 1.92m effort, and the long jump with a fourth place (6.38m) finish. He also placed ninth and established a new program record and season-best in the triple jump (12.94m) at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 14. Lopardo placed third in the long jump (6.30m), eighth in the triple jump (12.48m), and first in the high jump (1.91m) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Feb. 7. He placed 25
th in the long jump (5.73m) and first in the high jump (1.94m) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 24. Lopardo placed first in the high jump (1.92m), fifth in the long jump (6.07m) and fifth in the triple jump (11.91m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 17. He placed 10
th in the high jump (1.85m) at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. Lopardo placed first in the high jump (1.92m) and third in the long jump (6.12m) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 6.

He earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in the high and long jumps, placing sixth and third with efforts of 1.80m and a school-record 6.55m, respectively, at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 16. Lopardo placed 16
th in the high jump with a season-best leap of 1.88m at the B.U. Valentine Invitational on Feb. 9. He placed sixth in the high jump (1.84m), 14
th in the long jump (5.42m) and third in the triple jump (12.54m) at the URI Mega Meet on Feb. 1. Lopardo placed sixth in the high jump (1.81m), 12
th in the long jump (5.87m) and sixth in the triple jump (12.44m) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 26. He placed fourth in the high jump (1.86m), second in the long jump (6.02m) and placed sixth in the triple jump (11.75m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 19. Lopardo placed eighth in the high jump with a leap of 1.85 meters and 12
th in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 12.67m at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 8. He placed eighth in the high jump with a 1.82m effort and 22
nd in the triple jump with a leap of 11.30 meters at the Husky Winter Carnival on Dec. 1.
Prior to coming to RIC, Lopardo was a NJCAA All-American high jumper and played soccer during his two-year career at the Community College of Rhode Island.
Lopardo earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Rhode Island College in 2011.
He is currently a real estate agent and investor.
