Patrick Ford ’17 was an All-Conference golfer who helped lead the Anchormen to four consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference championships, a New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Div. III title and four NCAA Div. III Championship appearances during his career from 2011-15.
He earned a bachelor's degree in communications and mass media from Rhode Island College in 2017.
As a senior in 2014-15, the Halifax, Mass. native was named First Team All-GNAC following a second place score of 143 (74, 69; +3) at the GNAC Championship on Oct. 18-19. He shot a 153 (74, 79; +9) to finish in a tie for 78th at the NCAA National Championships on May 12-13. Ford averaged a score of 76.9 thru 12 competitions on the season, with his season-low round being a 69 on the second day of the GNAC Championship. He captured medalist honors for the second consecutive season, shooting a 75 at the MCLA Invitational on Sept. 18. Ford also took home medalist honors with a 73 (+1) at the Rich Korzec Invitational on April 28.
As a junior in 2013-14, Ford earned Second Team All-GNAC honors after finishing with a score of 153 (77, 76; +11) to tie for seventh place at the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships on Oct. 19-20. He wrapped up the spring by tying for 162nd overall with a score of 163 (77, 86) at the 2014 NCAA Div. III Men's Golf Championships on May 13-14. Ford shot a 74 (+3) to pick up medalist honors at the Trailblazer Invitational on Sept. 19, fired a season-best score of 72 (E) to earn medalist honors at the RIC Fall Invitational on Oct. 4, and carded a 36 through nine holes to claim medalist honors at the rain-shortened 2014 Rich Korzec Memorial Invitational on April 15. He averaged a score of 78.6 through 14 competitions and was named the GNAC Golfer of the Week twice on the season.
As a sophomore in 2012-13, Ford averaged a score of 80 in 11 competitions. He tied for 18th with a score of 166 (82, 84; +22) at the 2012-13 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship on Oct. 20-21 and followed that effort by tying for 12th place with a 77 (+5) to lead Rhode Island College to the highest finish in program history at the 2012 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships on Oct. 28. Later in the year, Ford tied for 118th place out of 210 golfers with a two-day score of 160 (83, 77; +17) at the 2013 NCAA Div. III Championships on May 14-15. He fired a season-best score of 70 on the second day of action at the 2013 Johnson & Wales Wildcat Invitational on April 20-21.
As a freshman in 2011-12, Ford earned All-GNAC honors after placing seventh with a score of 153 (74, 79) at the 2011-12 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships. He averaged a score of 78.0 through 13 competitions. Ford fired a season-best score of 72 at the Nichols Quad on September 20 and then again in the first round of the Johnson & Wales Fall Invitational on October 22. He captured medalist honors at both of those competitions, while also earning medalist honors at the Anna Maria tri-match on October 4 with a score of 77. Ford competed in the 2012 NCAA Div. III Men's Golf Championships on May 15-16, where he carded a 166 (79, 87), which tied him for 169th.
