Brown was a twenty year faculty member and Athletic Director for RICE (1947-1966).
Completing his Bachelor's Degree (1925) in Physical Education and his Masters (1940) in Education from Springfield College, he participated in wrestling, gymnastics, football, soccer, boxing, and baseball.
Assistant Physical Director of the Utica YMCA (Utica, N.Y.), Brown served as Director of the Boy Scout Camp in Saranac Lake, N.Y., Director of Camp Roosevelt (Lake Chaplain, N.Y.), and Director of the Boy’s Club (Pittsfield, Mass.).
In 1964, he retired from his U.S. Navy posting as Commander of the Pawtucket Naval Reserve unit.
